In Loving Memory of Rishi Sen

A Life of Resilience, Compassion, and Devotion

Rishi Sen lived a life defined by quiet resilience, deep compassion, and steadfast devotion to the people he loved. A loving husband, a deeply proud father, and a trusted friend, Rishi carried himself with humility and grace. His presence brought comfort to those around him, and his life reflected a strong commitment to kindness, responsibility, and integrity. From an early age, Rishi learned the meaning of perseverance. He lost his father while still young, an experience that shaped his character and required him to grow up with uncommon maturity. Without guidance or support systems to lean on, he learned to rely on his own determination. He built his career entirely from the ground up through diligence, honesty, and tireless effort. Nothing was handed to him. Every step forward was earned through persistence and sacrifice. Those who knew him admired his work ethic and grounded nature. He rarely spoke of hardship, yet his strength was evident in how steadfastly he faced life’s challenges. Family was central to Rishi’s identity and sense of purpose. He is survived by his sister, who resides in India. While life and distance placed them on different paths, family remained an important part of Rishi’s sense of continuity and connection.

At the heart of Rishi’s life was his beloved wife, Madhu, who stood beside him through every chapter of his journey. From the earliest years of their marriage, Madhu walked with him through uncertainty and sacrifice as they built their life together from the ground up. Through career challenges, family responsibilities, relocations, and personal loss, she remained his constant source of strength and belief. Rishi drew deeply from her resilience, compassion, and quiet courage. Their partnership was rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a deep understanding of life’s joys and struggles. Madhu was not only his wife, but his confidante, his anchor, and his greatest supporter, standing with him through both hardship and hope with grace and dignity. Rishi was also a deeply compassionate and spiritually grounded individual. Alongside his family, he dedicated many years to SGI, embracing a life centered on prayer, encouragement, and striving for the happiness and well being of others. He believed in the power of hope and the importance of uplifting those who felt uncertain or discouraged. His support often came quietly through listening, reassurance, and sincere care. He touched many lives without seeking recognition, believing that even small acts of encouragement could make a lasting difference.

For many years, Toronto was home. It was there that Rishi formed meaningful friendships and became part of a close knit community built on trust and shared experience. In more recent years, he welcomed change with optimism, relocating to California to be closer to his son, who had begun pursuing his dream of studying engineering in Texas. Rishi spoke with immense pride about his son and found great joy in watching him take his first steps into adulthood. He cherished simple moments of connection, everyday conversations, and the steady bond they shared as father and son. Rishi’s passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving family, friends, and loved ones deeply heartbroken. Yet even in his absence, the way he lived continues to speak for him. His life stands as a testament to perseverance shaped by hardship, commitment built through effort, and compassion expressed through action.

Rishi Sen is survived by his devoted wife, Madhu, his beloved son, and his sister in India. His legacy lives on through them and through the many lives he touched by being present, dependable, and kind. Rishi Sen will be remembered as a man who faced life with courage, lived with humility, and loved with sincerity. He will be profoundly missed and forever held close in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
