Rita Patricia Dewitt

Rita Patricia DeWitt, better known as Trish, 62, of Menifee, CA, passed away on March 6, 2022, after a three year long battle with breast cancer and lymphoma. Trish was born on May 6, 1959 to Otis Locke and LaDonna Morgan in Riverside, CA. She landed her first job feeding and taking care of horses for the stables for many years. She really had a way with horses. Trish dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful horse trainer, certified Toyota mechanic, friend and later in life mother and grandmother. Trish excelled in horse training throughout her younger years, working with actors such as John Wayne, Dean Martin, Slim Pickens, James Garner, Gene Wilder, Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Glenn Campbell, Kathryn Hepburn, Ann Margret and many more. Trish was a passionate certified Toyota mechanic and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found outside or in a garage working on her own or a friends vehicles. We will miss her greatly. In 2005, she met George Kakely, and they have been together sixteen years, already both having children, decided not to have any together. Trish had said she had ten children, all adopted, either to her parents or other families. Trish was predeceased by both her parents Otis Henry Locke and LaDonna Marie Locke. She is survived by her sixteen year companion, George Edward Kakely, her brother Edward William Locke and wife Rhonda Locke. Sons Joseph James Locke, 44, and wife Christine Locke, Brandon Clark Glennon, 31, Michael Thomas Glennon, 28, daughters Misty Marie Taylor, 33, and husband Phillip Taylor, and Danielle DeWitt, 30. Other children unknown names and ages. Grandchildren Joseph Locke Jr., Nathan Locke, Dean Locke, Ella McPherson, and Marie McPherson. Niece and nephew Rocky and Roxie Locke; and her many many friends that loved her dearly. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Hope in the Valley Baptist church. There will be a memorial April 9, 2022, 2:00pm at Hope In The Valley Baptist Church, Hemet, Ca 92543. Food and drink will be provided after. Please RSVP if attending.
