Robert “Bob” Stephenson, 80, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, in riverside, California. He is survived by his wife of nine months, Janice Evans, his daughter Cathy (Neil) Decker of Ventura, Grandchildren Matthew and David Decker, sisters Erma Stephenson of Wichita, Kansas, Lela Moore of Milton, Florida, Lola (James) Mathews of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Mary Hutchinson of Wichita, Kansas, brothers, Ellis (Sondra) Stephenson of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Doug Stephenson of Wichita, Kansas, and Den Stephenson of Wichita, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews. he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty, son, Robert “Bob” Stephenson, Jr., and brother John Stephenson. Bob was born on December 3, 1934 in Marble City, Oklahoma, to John and Katherine Stephenson. He received his bachelors degree at Northeastern State University in Talequah, Oklahoma, and his masters degree at California State University Fullerton. He served in the Air Force 5 years as a radar specialist. On October 24, 1959, he married Betty Ruth Brashear in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Bob worked as a teacher and elementary school principal in Corona-Norco Unified School District for 30 years. he also taught in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a principal in Quincy, California. he retired in 1992. Bob enjoyed playing the fiddle, guitar, and banjo and played frequently in the Corona area. He also enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
