Robert “Bobby” Hayes Brown Jr

During the days of his life- Ecclesiastes 8:15 Mr. Robert Hayes Brown, Jr., also called Bobby, Bobby jr., and Rob was born September 21, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the fourth of eight children and first son born to Robert Brown Sr. and Freddie Lurlean Nash-Brown-White, both preceded him in death along with his grandparents and three of his siblings; Danita Marlene Brown., Torrance David Brown, Talbert Jesse Brown. He attended Mark Twain elementary school and Northwest Highschool where he was in the Highschool band; he enjoyed playing the drums. Robert met Vernita Grant and in 1974 they welcomed their son Addrian. Later Robert moved to Los Angeles and joined the military. In 1980 Robert enrolled in military service for the United States Army and graduated from Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake Washington with his high school diploma. Robert served in the military for 3 years as a Food Service Specialist and ascended to the rank of SP4. He received an ARMY SERVICE RIBBON, an OVERSEAS SERVICE RIBBON, and a SHARPSHOOTER BADGE before being honorably discharged from the Military. During his service, he received multiple letters of appreciation, acknowledgment, and achievement for his contributions. Following his discharge from the Army, Robert resided in Los Angeles, Ca with his mother, soon he met and married Faye; from their union, they welcomed a daughter, Saquaria. Robert continued to care for his son, Addrian. Following the dissolution of his first marriage, Robert married Manzella Chapman on September 21, 1990, and remained married until 2012. Robert was employed by the Lynwood School District as a custodian, where he worked until he retired in 2010. Following retirement, he moved to Corona, California where he spent his time enjoying travel, watching basketball and football, and listening to his music. In 2020 Robert purchased his first home, which he called his "A.O" (Area of Operations), and moved to Victorville, CA, where he could really be himself. He continued content in his bachelor pad with his K-9 buddy Rosco. Faith, Hope, and Love - 1 Corinthians 13:13 Robert accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. Throughout his life Robert maintained his belief in Christ, attending religious services and spending time in Gods' word, the Bible, and prayer. In his final years, Robert enjoyed having Bible studies with the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was sure that he would enjoy perfect, unending life in paradise and he especially looked forward to the resurrection of and reuniting with his mother. In his final hours, this hope brought him comfort. Bobby, "our friend has fallen asleep" - John 11:11 Robert peacefully fell asleep in death at Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville, Ca at 0637 on October 15, 2021, with his daughter holding his hand as his heart thumped its final beat. During his final hours, he was surrounded by a few of the many who loved him: Glynnis Sr., Glynnis Jr., Faye, and Neal. While all who loved him could not be present, he spoke with many by phone and felt their love. Robert's final breath was drawn in serenity. Robert was a good husband, a good father, a good brother, and a good man. He lived life on his own terms and if he loved you, he would do anything for you. He was independent and enjoyed solitude; strong-willed, funny, about taking care of his business, and he loved to enjoy life. He leaves to cherish his memories: his son Dr. Addrian D. Grant, daughter Saquaria Brown; his granddaughter Savannah Grant; his stepchildren Joseph, Quayla, and Neal; three sisters Lynette "Big Sis, Dollbaby" Brown-Briscoe (Johnny), Sanbonita "Sandy" Brown (Jonathan), Sonceria "Cerie" Brown-Morris (Alexander); one brother Glynnis Brown Sr.; his stepsister Kimberly Douglas; six nieces, five nephews, a host of uncles, aunts, extended family, friends, and his dog Roscoe. Robert Jr. will be lovingly remembered as a Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.
