Robert E. Mccorkell

July 18, 1937 ā€” May 10, 2018

Robert Ealulio McCorkell (My own Obituary) Well I guess if you are reading this I have finished my journey. I was born July 18, 1937 in Corona, California, passed away on May 10, 2018 of whatever it took. I want to express my thanks to my Creator for this wonderful journey. This gift of life he has given us all is beyond anything words can express. I have always said that this ride was the ā€œEā€ ticket which at one time was the best you could get at Disneyland. Back in the days. I attended Corona schools and graduated with the Corona H.S. class of 1956. My military service was with the 40th infantry division and the 1/18 armored cavalry 1955 until 1982, retiring with the rank of MSG. My chosen trade was upholstery, starting at International Furniture in 1957 where I worked until 1980. Then I attended UCSB in order to become an instructor, attaining both a lifetime teaching and community college credential. I taught vocational upholstery at the California Rehabilitation Center prison in Norco from 1982 until 2001 when I retired. My wife Marylou (Heath) and I married in 1959 at Saint Edwards in Corona. Our sons Rick, Rob and our daughter Kathleen Keller all live in this area. One daughter Jessica is waiting for me just across the way. I have 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a bunch of nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and cousins all over the area. Love from a grateful heart to you all. To those family and friends I leave behind dont even cry a single tear. The trip I have just concluded was a gift from God. You all were part of that gift. The Creator, spirits and angels have held my hand throughout my life, it was a good journey because of you and them. The road was never too rough. The sights and people I have shared this road with were a joy and are unforgettable. Remember, our body is merely the shell for our soul and the soul is a free flying thing that will be forever. Be with you soon. Visitation Sierra Memorial Chapel Mortuary 951-687-0551 | Tuesday 5/15, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Service St. Mel's Catholic Church
