Robert (Bob) F. Barden, resident of Riverside, California formerly of Hartford, Connecticut passed away on January 30, 2019 at his home at the age of 82. Bob served in the United States Air Force for 23 years before retiring. He served in Vietnam as well as tours in Peru, Ethiopia, Okinawa, Thailand, Columbia, Alaska, Massachusetts, Florida and finally California. After retiring from the USAF he then worked as a traffic engineer for both the County of Riverside and the City of Moreno Valley for nearly 20 years. He was an active member of his church, Freemasonary, Eastern Star as well as supporting Masonic Youth organizations. He along with his family were active participants in many Scottish functions and attended Scottish games throughout California and other states. Bob taught aviation classes with Young Eagles at both March AFB and Flabob Airport. He supported the Riverside Concert Band serving as the treasurer for 10 years. His love of flying, the military, his faith and especially his family were undeniable. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years Aleda, his daughters Sheri (Ruben) Maldonado, Melanie (Jonathan) Allen, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Marion Barden, his sister Margery Aro, and his granddaughter Leticia Maldonado. Services will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Temescal Palms Masonic Lodge. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, Los Angeles.
