Robert Roger Hillis

Robert Roger Hillis was born September 18, 1946 in San Diego, CA. Robert passed away with his family by his side on April 8, 2017 in Riverside, CA. He resided in Corona for the previous thirty years. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Roger and Pauline Hillis. Robert was an accomplished athlete, participating in football and track in high school and Whittier College where he graduated in 1968. In later years he enjoyed golf with his friends. Robert began his career as a middle school science teacher. Following that he was a drug counselor for Riverside County, then transferred to the county alcohol program where he was director. Robert completed his career as a deputy director for San Bernardino County Mental Health. Robert is survived by his wife, Janet; his children Claire Elizabeth, Tara and Chris; grandchildren Troy and Isabelle Margaret; brother, Gregg (Annette); niece Alethea (Eric), Danielle (Jerry); great nephew Hudson; two aunts and seven cousins. Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Service will be private.
