Roland Eric Endres

October 27, 1935 — November 22, 2013

Roland Eric Endres, 78, of Corona, California, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully, joining his heavenly Father on Friday, November 22, 2013. Eric was born in Waukegan, Illinois to William Matthew and Florence May (Anderson) Endres. Eric is survived by his dearly loved wife, Ardus Jean (Beaty) of 56 years. He is also survived by his two brothers, George William Randle and Frank Edward. Eric was very proud of his four children Perry Mark, Craig Steven, David Paul, and Diann Sue (Endres) Boone and his nine grandchildren, Hannah (Endres) Fong, Cherise Endres, Emily Endres, Ryan Endres, Gretchen Endres, Natalie Boone, Matthew Endres, Lindsay Boone, and Sally Boone. Eric graduated in 1957 from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas with a bachelors degree in math and earned a masters degree in education at the University of Arkansas in 1959. He taught high school math and physics for seven years in Indiana. In 1966, the Endres family moved to Corona, California, and Eric worked for Rockwell International in Anaheim, California as an engineer for 26 years. Being an outdoor enthusiast, Eric loved camping, hiking, and fishing in various national parks and Mammoth Lakes with friends and family. He also loved using his woodworking talents to build furniture, wooden gifts and repair items for anyone in need. Along with his wife, Ardus Jean, they frequently welcomed pastors, missionaries, and countless friends into their home. For years, he served in their church as an elder, deacon, Bible study leader, Sunday school teacher, and worship leader. Ardus Jean and Eric sang together in their church choir at Northpoint Evangelical Free Church for over 30 years. Most importantly, Eric knew Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, having trusted in Him as a high schooler while on a church retreat. Throughout his life he remained faithful to his Lord, his wife and his family. He knew the Scriptures well and read his Bible daily. Even while suffering from ALS in his later years, he remained tender hearted and humble in spirit.
