Ronald Joseph Piering passed away on October 8, 2015 at home, his family by his side. He was born on May 6, 1933 in Duluth, Minnesota to Margaret and Joseph Piering. He attended Cathedral Catholic School and graduated from Central High School in Duluth. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Sperry. His early working years he was an machinist and inspector, also a car salesman. In 1965 Ron and family moved to Corona, where they owned and operated Corona “Q” Family Billiards. He retired after 28 years from “The Lounge” in Corona. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Underwood, his brother Jerry Piering; also his wife of 60 years, Dorothy. He is survived by his daughter and son in law Sunni and Burt Doster; “Son” Mitchell Spangler and wife Mary and family. His sister Delores Kuskey and sister in law Margie Piering. Along with many nieces and nephews. A special mention to our pets Duke and Shorty who kept him very busy. He enjoyed golfing, playing pool and gambling. Most importantly were his family and friends. My parents were very lucky to have dear friends for over 50 y ears which is something special, most people dont keep in contact that long. He was “dearly loved” and will be missed by many. Services will be at Thomas Miller Mortuary in Corona on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM. A gathering will be held in his honor at 685 Magnolia Avenue Corona following the service. Our family would like to give a special thanks to Corona Regional Hospice for their help and kindness. Also to our” caregiver Debbie Foust.
