Ronald William White (Ron) was born on November 1, 1952 in Billings Montana to his loving parents Bill and Lorraine White. Ron was the oldest of five siblings and he loved to remind Teresa, Toni, Bill and Vonnie that he would always be the first-born child in the family. Ron grew up surrounded by his 3 sisters, his brother, cousins, and a neighborhood of friends. He spent all his childhood in Billings, MT where he did what kids did back then: rode bikes, played baseball, made ice skating rinks in the family's backyard in the winter, skied, wrestled, hunted, fished, and kept his mom busy mending the holes in the knees of his Levis. Ron's dad was the Scout Master of his Boy Scout Troop and Ron reached the rank of Eagle Scout in 1970. Ron was an avid skier, enjoying both snow skiing and water skiing. When Ron was a sophomore in high school, he sat next to a girl named Linda Stewart in Biology class. He liked to bother her and her lab partner when they were dissecting animals. The teasing turned into flirting which turned into dating. They dated through high school, graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1971, and enrolled at Montana State University Bozeman. Ron and Linda White were married on August 26, 1972 at Central Christian Church in Billings Montana. They were blessed to have two children, Ron Jr. born September 16, 1974 and Jody Kay, born January 9, 1977. Ron was an exceptional Dad. Work was work, and that is what he did to put a roof over his family's head and food on the table. But his passion was his family. He invested his time in his children. He was their Little League coach, ballet chauffer, soccer coach, cheerleading and football side-line coach. He gave them unsolicited suggestions and an endless amount of support. Ron and Linda moved the family to Corona California in 1987 where they continued to raise their children in a wonderful community. Ron coached Little League Baseball for 15 years in Billings MT and Corona CA. He served as the President of Corona American Little League from 1989-1991. Ron was a participant in Relay for Life of Corona, supporting the American Cancer Society, from 2016-2023. Ron's family grew with the addition of Ron Jr's wife, Maribeth White and Jody's husband, Jon Lai. While Ron's children were the apple of his eye, his amazing grandchildren were the cherry on top. Grandpa White loved spending time with his four grandchildren: Abby (16 yrs), Tommy (15 yrs), Jeremy (12 yrs) and Jace (9 yrs). What was once a family of four became a family of ten. This new family of ten made it a priority to spend time together at family dinners, birthday BBQs and vacations to Montana, Wyoming, and Maui. Ron loved the times that he spent with his wife, kids and grandkids. But he equally loved the times he spent in Roberts, MT at a place lovingly known as Grandma's Country. The acreage was initially bought by Ron's parents and became a gathering place for all of Ron's siblings and their children. Ron was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. Prior to that time, the only time he was in the hospital was to have his tonsils out as a child. Ron was a Cancer Warrior. He underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments and was cancer-free for 6 years. However, a new cancer diagnosis emerged in 2021. His doctors treated the kidney cancer with an ablation procedure which froze the cancer cells. Ron was once again diagnosed with cancer, this time colon cancer, in October 2022. Surgery to remove the colon cancer revealed that the cancer had spread to other parts in his body. Being the Warrior that he was, he did not allow his illness to interfere with his time with his loved ones during his last few months. He shopped on Amazon for great Christmas presents, birthday presents, and Valentines Day presents. The family spent a long weekend in Indio in late March 2023 and celebrated Easter 2023 together at Grandpa and Grandma White's house. Ron entered Hospice Care on April 12, 2023 and he died peacefully at home, surrounded by Linda, Ron Jr. and Jody on April 18 2023. Ron is now in Heaven surrounded by many loved ones that arrived there before him. Ron is survived by his wife loving of 50 years, Linda Kay; his son Ron Jr. (Maribeth) White, daughter Jody (Jon) Lai, grandchildren Abby and Tommy White, Jeremy and Jace Lai, sister Teresa (Doug) Dewald, brother Bill (Trina) White, sister Vonnie Kruse, sister-in-law Debbie (Galen) Hronek, brother-in-law Rich (Cindy) Stewart, and many precious nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Bill and Lorraine White, sister Toni Peterson, and father and mother-in-law Ralph and JoAnne Stewart. Ron's Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 outdoors at Crestlawn Memorial Park (11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, CA 92505) at 12:30 pm.
