October 27, 1956 — April 21, 2023

On Friday, April 21st, 2023, Ronnie Lee Burt, loving Father, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend, passed away at the age of 66 in Corona, California despite diligently and courageously battling Prostate Cancer for over six years. Ron was born on October 27th, 1956 in Riverside, California to Clastine Thelma (Roper) and Charles Edwin Burt. He was the youngest of three siblings, Robert Charles Burt and Shirley Ann Bertolini (Burt). Ron attended school in Corona where he participated in multiple sports including baseball and wrestling. He graduated from Corona Senior High School in 1975, he was always a proud Panther alumni, known by his classmates as "Porko". After graduating high school he proudly joined the United States Army, where he served in Fort Ord CA, Camp Pieri, Wiesbaden Germany, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico from 1975 to 1978. After serving honorably Ron started a family and had four children Rhonda LeeAnne (Jason Skaggs), Angela Marie "Bear" (Michael Corpuz), Jeffrey Allen (Lienda Burt), Lacey Elizabeth (CJ Watkins). He worked in the Lumber industry at Sutherland Lumber (1978-1986) and Grove Lumber (1986-2017). Later in life he pursued a career in California Youth Authority Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer (2000-2005), while attending the academy he received the True Girt award for his hard work. Ron loved sports and dedicated Friday nights to be the sports announcer for the Roosevelt High School Football team. There he was known as the voice of "Mustaaaannng Nation" from the schools opening season in 2006 to 2021. In 2004 Ron earned a new title as “Papa", starting with Kimberly Nicole (Skaggs), followed by Nathan James (Corpuz), Addison Riley (Watkins), Leah Victoria (Corpuz), Conner Lee (Skaggs), Tyler Matthew (Watkins) and Mason Bennett (Watkins) and the granddogs Rylee, Wesley and Parker (Burt). He was very proud of each of his grandkids for all their passions and accomplishments. Ron had many devoted friends and family that have stood by and supported him throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community.
