Rose Marie Perez

Rose Marie Perez (ne Rios) was born on March 29, 1935 in Riverside, California to parents John Cervantes Rios and Olga Rios (ne Casas) of Williams, Arizona. A lifelong Coronan, Rose Marie grew up on Ramona Avenue with three sisters: Evelyn, Cecilia, and Elizabeth. In 1953 she married Pete Moreno Perez (1931 - 2004). The couple had two children, John Michael Perez (1954 - ) and Olga Renee Perez (1958 - 2014). Rose Marie worked as a telephone operator, beginning her full-time career in 1955 at Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company and retiring as a supervisor from AT&T in 1995. Rose Marie, The Rose, Rosie, loved to dance, especially to rock and roll and disco music. She also loved penny slots and the lottery. Her favorite place to be, besides her house on Buena Vista Avenue, was the beach. She enjoyed watching a good game of football, basketball, and baseball. She took pride in her plants and could be found watering, pruning, weeding, or planting most days of the week. She is survived by her son, John (and wife, Lynn Perez); John and Lynn's children, Samantha Jean Teed (and husband, Bill Teed) and John Ryan Perez (and wife, Sana Perez); Samantha and Bill's children, Ella Jean Teed and Emma Lynn Teed; her granddaughter, Danielle Marie Perez-Granado, daughter of Olga; her sister, Cecilia, and Cecilia's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and countless extended family and friends.
