Roy W. Heightman

August 14, 1949 — January 22, 2014

On January 22, 2014 Roy W. Heightman, age 64, left this life to join our Lord in heaven. He was born on August 14, 1949 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, son of Harry J. and Julia A. Heightman. He spent his happy childhood in Mahopac, New York. After graduation from Mahopac High School in 1967 he joined the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged in May of 1972 he was so proud to join the Peekskill Police Department in Peekskill, New York where he was employed until January, 1980. In February, 1980 he moved his family to Southern California. In July of 1980 Roy again was so proud to join the Corona Police Department where he worked with many fabulous people until his retirement in 1996. He will be truly remembered for his unwavering love for his family, friends and country. He is survived by his wife Gladys with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. He is also survived by three daughters, Tricia A. Beaman (Todd), Tracy L. Nunemacher (Jay) and Heather J. Lundquest (Trever); one brother, Harry J. Heightman (Sharon); one sister, Judy A. Muchow; three brothers-in-law, Edward Delfay, Robert Delfay and Fred Delfay; three grandsons, Trevor R. Beaman, Tanner R. Beaman and Bryce W. Lundquest; one granddaughter, Drew J. Lundquest; one step-granddaughter, Nikita Nunemacher; one step-grandson, Jordan Nunemacher; one step-great-grandson, Adrian Mendoza and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his father, mother and two brothers, Robert and George. Roy received the gift of extended life through organ donation. Please consider being an organ donor yourself.
