Shelby Ray Huskey

May 4, 1927 — March 20, 2014

SHELBY RAY HUSKEY entered heaven March 20th. Just two months short of his 87th birthday. He is survived by his loving and caring wife Joyce Lee Huskey. Shelby, a WWII veteran, was in charge of finding and returning the bodies of missing soldiers left on the battlefields of Holland to mothers and wives at home. Shelby was only 18 and considered this chapter as one of his most spiritually haunting and formidable times of his life. This time helped shape the rest of his life. After returning from Europe, he became a successful small businessman, who owned his own barber shop. Later, Shelby went into the oil business of producing specialty lubricants. At the time of his passing he supplied industrial lubricants throughout the world. His employees knew him to be a generous and caring man who will be missed by all. Shelby was a good man and loved by many. Anyone who knew him loved him! Shelby loved to tell jokes. He was cousin to the famous singer Ferlin Husky so entertaining was in the family. Shelby was blessed with three daughters and their husbands; Connie and Steve Bradford, Cathy and Frank Merlo , Cheri and Tom Sperbeck. Shelby is also survived by his stepson, Richard Zhang and his wife Vicky Xu. Furthermore, he was blessed with eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three more on the way.
