Shirley Spearman Edgerson Jackson was born to Grover C Spearman I and Odessa Lee Jones on August 21,1944. She grew up an attended school in Kansas City, Kansas. She had three boys Keith Gerald and Terry and one girl To. She began her career in the banking industry at Commercial National Bank. After visiting with her father in California she decided to spread her wings and moved to there. She obtained her first job the second day she arrived at Compton Unified School District. She wasnt there very long before she decided to take her dad up on a challenge and become a public transportation driver for RTD. Thats when the journey began. She began to meet lifelong friends and make lifelong connections. After several years in the transportation business, she decided she need a change. She partnered up with friends and her then husband Fred D Jackson and they began Security Income Tax Service. The office became her passion at 5am she was up with her list of things to do and off to the office she went. This was her daily routine and she enjoyed it to the fullest. She set daily goals to accomplish, and she couldnt rest until she did just that. She constantly encouraged others to pursue their dreams and to set goals. There was never any boundaries or limits with her she believed in everyone and in everyones dreams. If she could assist on your journey she did so without hesitation. She enjoyed spending times playing cards with friends, creating adventures with her family, but she enjoyed work most of all. She was the wow factor! An intelligent amazing woman who never let anything stand in her way. She was the example of hard work, dedication, and determination. She has received multiple accolades in the tax industry for her outstanding performance and achievements. In 2020 Shirley was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease). She took on that challenge like so many others. She was brave, fierce, and determined to keep going. She would analyze a situation plan it out and put in the work. I remember her counting her steps so she knew mentally how far it was and how many steps it would take coming back. One two three lets go nothing could hold her back. She maintained a mental list of things to do and at 5 am she let you know just what they were. She had a host of grandkids that shed tell today I need you to be my legs and they were right doing just that. She showered everyone she knew with positive vibes. She showered her family with love and support. She fought a hard fight, and she did it like a champ. Shirley gained her wings on 2/17/22. She will be sorely missed by her children Keith Claybon Sr. of Hemet, Ca, Gerald Claybon Sr (Carmen) of Moreno Valley, Ca., Terry Claybon of Hollywood, Ca., and Toi Spearman of Riverside, Ca.
