Stella Ann Carrizosa

January 6, 1943 — August 13, 2023

Stella Ann Carrizosa left this world surrounded by her four daughters and all of their love on August 13, 2023, in Riverside, California. She and her twin brother were born to Mary Louise and Celedonio Oyas on January 6, 1943. Stella and Steve Oyas lived a simple, but extraordinary life in Elsinore, California. Born to a family of nine, they were known for keeping their mom on her toes. Theirs was the childhood of sunshine, piano lesson, tap lessons and lots of family. Stella and her mother belonged to the American Legion for several years. Stella graduated from and met her future husband, Henry Carrizosa, at Elsinore Highschool. Just a few months after her graduation she married Henry and moved to Santa Ana, California. Together they created a family filled with love, laughter, dancing and comfort. Rosemarie, Nancy, Renee and Helen understood how lucky they were to be given these two sweet and adoring parents who wanted nothing but their happiness. One by one their sons-in-law were welcomed into their family with open arms. John, Richard, Russell and Steve enjoyed making their in-laws laugh, while they took care of their beloved daughters. For 58 years, Henry and Stella spent their days raising their children, bowling in various leagues, taking some trips to Vegas, and eventually being in awe of their eleven grandchildren: John, Richard, Matthew, Melanie, Katherine, Samantha, Evan, Anthony, Thomas, Madison and Donovan. They later welcomed their great-grandchildren, Christopher, Charlotte, Nathan, Heidy, Lily, Zoey and Joey. Stella spent quality time with each and every one, enjoying and accepting each for who they are. In her later years she enjoyed her trips to Lake Tahoe with her cherished sister, Gloria. She was also able to go to Boston to visit her twin brother Steve. She helped an assortment of stray cats and dogs. She had a weakness for charming little balls of fur. Weekends were spent piddling in her treasured garden, crocheting, going to the movies or reading to her heart's content. Stella left this world, just as she lived in it, with love and grace. Her children know she is reunited with their dad, but they still miss the light that was their mom.
