In memory of beloved husband and loving father, Thomas Edward Thompson. He was born on October 9, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of 17 he joined the Marine Corp. While serving as a helicopter crew chief in the Vietnam War he earned 1050 air medals. After returning from the war he was stationed in California. This is where he met the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Janice. In 1977 he decided to pursue a career in Law Enforcement, graduating 1st in his class from the LAPD Academy. He continued his career in the LAPD for 31 years, as well as spending 6 years with the FBI. During his retirement he enjoyed biking to the beach or driving his boat at the river. You could always spot him by his bright shirts and matching shorts. It didnt matter where you were, he had a whistle that made everyone stop what they were doing and say, “Where is Tom?” After a 2 year battle with cancer and complications he passed away on August 18, 2017. He is survived by his wife Janice, children Tommy (Jessica), Adam and Stephanie.
