Thomas Paul Laidlaw

Thomas Paul Laidlaw, age 76, of Corona, California, passed away on September 10, 2022. He is survived by his wife Linda, three children, Annie, David, and Scott, and three grandchildren, lodie, Vivienne, and Liam. He is also survived by three brothers, Richard, Bob, and John, and two sisters, Mary and Betty. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Lawrence, and his brother, James. Tom grew up in Indianapolis where he attended St. Joan of Arc Elementary School and graduated Shortridge High School. He attended Ball State University and earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. Tom also lived in Orange County, CA, where he raised his family and grew several, successful businesses. Tom was a devoted husband to Linda, and they recently celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Tom was a dedicated father who spent time coaching his children's baseball and softball teams. Mostly he is remembered and cherished for all of the ordinary days he spent with his wife and children playing games, swimming, and building fun projects for the family. Tom was always there and present for his family. Tom enjoyed international travel and special family trips. He enjoyed playing golf at Anaheim Hills Golf Course and served a term as the president of the Anaheim Hills Men's Club. For many years, Tom volunteered as a marshall at professional and celebrity golf tournaments. He had never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He valued his childhood buddies along with his new friends in California. Although Tom lost his battle with cancer, he absolutely won in life. This energetic, fun-loving, kid at heart, card player, golfer, skier, race car driver, pianist, historian, risk taker, optimist, traveler, leader, builder, son, brother, friend, uncle, husband, father, father in law, grandpa, will be so very missed. Services will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Irvine, California, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to celebrate the life of Tom Laidlaw.
