How do you capture an entire life full of adventures in a few words? It feels like an impossible feat, sharing one's life in a matter of paragraphs. A life of value, meaning, 70 years worth and millions of miles traveled in between. Stories of activism, near brushes with death, standing up and actively trying to make a difference in the world, in the lives of their family, for their county and the land that they live. Silly moments, jokes and laughter. Fighting, arguments, mistakes, making up and forgiveness. Having an idea, an interest and making it happen. Teaching, learning and encouraging the next generation. Beginning to end with all the details etched in between. This is the life of Tooraj (Roger) Moradi, son of Soltan Hossein and Kobra Shahab, born in Iran . A strong, brave, giving, wise, adventurous and generous human being. He gave so much of himself to everyone in his life asking little in return. He loved martial arts, traveling, exploring new things and learning new languages. He traveled all over the world. Roger was a man of action, taking a stand and participating in human rights movements throughout the world. He lived a life of adventure, on his terms. Over the past two years he began to experience health concerns, which up to a year ago was identified as a rare disease called Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA) along with symptoms of Parkinson's. This effected him physically, but he continued traveling and practicing martial arts until he couldn't any longer. Even then he would give pointers and practice moves with his grandkids whom he encouraged to join as well. There are so many stories left untold and words unspoken. Sad hearts and tears shed. But one thing is for sure that Roger lived a life most dream of, but few get to experience. He always said it's not the amount of years we live but the quality of the life we do live. Treat people well and do good is what he encouraged. He is very loved, truly missed and respected by many. He will live on in the lives he touched and those he met. Most importantly to his family: wife, Jackie, children, Azad, Azadeh and Shahrzad, their spouses, Eduardo and Yessica. Grandkids: Raya, Navid, Camille, and Asher. His siblings, Iraj, Mehrdad, Khosrow, Farzaneh and Farzad. His martial arts family and so many more.
