Virginia Diane Garcia

September 7, 1957 — March 2, 2021

Virginia was born on September 7th, 1957 in Lynwood, Ca. to Eudocio (Henry) and Mary Guerrero. She joined older sister Lydia, and the family later welcomed younger sister, Rebecca. As a child, Virginia was very loving, and kind, with a bit of a sassy side. She loved giving her toys away to the kids in the neighborhood, which did not please her parents too much, so her sister Lydia would then have to go around the neighborhood to retrieve them. Virginia would continue her giving ways throughout her entire life. In May of 1975, when Virginia was 17 years old, she met the love of her life, Michael. He was 5 years her senior, and not her usual type, but he was a nice person, so she agreed to go out on a date with him, and the rest is history. They would date for a few short months before Michael proposed, and they were married on December 6th, 1975. The couple would welcome their first child, a son named Michael Jr. in 1977, followed by Julina, Ricky and Tommy. After spending the first couple of years living in Paramount, the young family eventually made their move to Fountain Valley, where they lived in the same house for almost 38 years. The Garcia family continued to grow over the years, as Michael and Virginia had 10 grandchildren in total. They loved and adored all of their grandkids, forming a special bond with each one of them. They were the best parents and grandparents anyone could ask for. They especially loved and cherished the times when all of their children and grandchildren were able to gather under one roof, making memories that would last a lifetime. Michael and Virginia loved spending time together. As empty nesters, the couple would often travel to Sedona soaking in the relaxation and beautiful scenery. They also bought an RV, enjoying camping, and off roading with family and friends. Virginia was not a fan of the outdoors, but if it meant spending time with her hubby, she did it! The couple also loved going to Dodgers games, and concerts. She even became a Dodgers fan in recent years, finally joining Michael in his love of the team! The couple of 46 years rarely spent time apart as Michael had retired early in life and Virginia was a homemaker. Usually, when you saw one of them, the other wasn't too far behind. Their marriage only grew stronger as the years passed and they were more in love than ever when Michael unexpectedly passed away on July 31st, 2020. The family's lives would change in an instant on the fateful day, and Virginia's heart was shattered. Over the next 7 months, she would try to live without her soulmate, but not even death could keep them apart. The Lord called Virginia home on March 2nd, 2021 and she was reunited with her love Michael in Heaven. While Virginia was taken from our world too soon, her memory will live on in our hearts for eternity. Virginia, you are deeply missed, and forever loved.
