Virginia Ray Gilroy

February 2, 1967 — April 10, 2023

Virginia Ray Gilroy, 56, of Corona, passed away from her battle with heart failure on April 10th, 2023. She was known to family and friends as Ginger. She was born February 2nd, 1967 in Los Angeles, and was the daughter of Raymond Andrade and Virginia Ortega. She grew up in Alta Loma and went to high school in Montclair, where she met many lifelong friends. Ginger was a loving mother and grandmother, dedicated wife, supportive sister, and adoring daughter. In her early life she was very athletic, playing many different sports. She especially loved Cheerleading, she later shared her cheer knowledge when she started coaching Pop Warner cheer, while in college. She met her husband Jeff in high school, he was her soul mate, best friend, and they had many life adventures together throughout their marriage. Ginger was happiest spending time with her grandchildren Caleb and Ellynthia. She enjoyed family trips to different national parks but was especially fond of Yosemite and Yellowstone. She loved music and going to concerts, trips to Disneyland with her family, and picking up new hobbies like jewelry making and photography. Ginger spent over 20 years working for the California Department of Corrections. She started her career as an Office Technician and worked her way up to being a Paroles Service Analyst. She medically retired from the state in 2014. She leaves behind her husband of 37 years Jeff Gilroy; children, Dellena (Christopher) Olps; grandchildren, Caleb and Ellynthia; Father, Raymond Andrade; Brothers, Tony and Mike Andrade; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Ginger was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Ortega; and brother, Raymond Andrade Jr. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4th, 2023, at Thomas Miller Mortuary, 1118 E. 6th Street, Corona, CA 92879, where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. A reception for Gingers Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m., at the Women's Improvement Club, 1101 S.
