Wallace "Wally" MacKenzie, 78, of Corona California passed away in his home surrounded in love by his family. He is survived by his wife Sandra Mackenzie, his daughter Miranda "Mandy" and grandson Brandon. He was born November 4,1942 and raised in Colorado to Harold and Adalaide MacKenzie with his brother Keith and his surviving sister Lois Steiner, Tennessee. Wally was known to all who had the pleasure of knowing him as a charismatic, intelligent, logical thinker who lit up any room he walked into. Wally told Sandy he was going to marry her on their first date and they ended up getting married on November 23 1963 and enjoyed 57 years of love and laughter together. After getting married he served his country proudly in the Marine Corps as a Sargent until he was honorably discharged in 1972. He then began his career in the mortgage industry until his retirement and excelled at finance. Wally had many strong friendships over the years but notably many of his friends were his fellow radio controlled airplane enthusiasts of the Circle City Flyers where he was a founding member and you could find him on weekends flying his latest model airplane, teaching others how to fly, talking to the guys about his latest model he was building. One of his fondest students was his grandson Brandon and he often enjoyed telling the story of teaching him to fly the plane at the field or when he taught Mandy how to race RC cars and "she would beat all the boys and grown men racing her purple grasshopper at the track." Wally also enjoyed spending his time outdoors both camping and fishing. He often would sing when he was happy and even joined a barbershop quartet for a few years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
