WILLIAM ALEXANDER JONES LOVING FATHER AND GRANDFATHER WONDERFUL BROTHER, UNCLE, AND GREAT UNCLE GOOD AND CARING FRIEND William Alexander Jones, Jr. was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 27, 1947 to William Alexander Jones, Sr. and Blanche Slusher Jones. As a young boy he loved playing baseball and other sports with his friends. William was a Cub Scout and a dedicated Boy Scout. He attended Hobart Blvd. Elementary School, Berendo Junior High, and graduated from Los Angeles High School. William enjoyed music and was a particular fan of Jazz and R B. During high school, he played drums, trumpet, and trombone in the marching band. Also in high school, thanks to encouragement from his mother, a former high school Latin teacher, William became a member of the Latin Club. William was a fierce fan of basketball and most of his life, he played the game every chance he got. Also, he was an expert at playing Blackjack. William was a very hard worker - he always worked two jobs. But he still managed to go back to school and graduate from West Los Angeles College with his AA Degree.He spent most of his career in the banking industry in data processing where he rose to the position of manager. In 1965, William met Ramona Lewis, a lovely friend of his sister, Mollie. William and Ramona married in 1968. Their darling baby daughter, Kasandra (Sandy), was born in 1971. Although their marriage ended their dedication and love for Sandy never changed. William loved his brilliant, beautiful daughter, Sandy, and his sweet, talented granddaughter, Skye. They were his world. He was extremely proud of both of them. He was very blessed to have such a loving, attentive daughter who made sure he received the very best possible care for nearly five years. And Skye, lovingly called the “Drill Sargent,” kept her “Papa” in shape. He was the best brother anyone could ask for. He got along well with all three of his sisters. He put up with a lot from these girls who adored him - mainly he thought they all talked too much! They had lots of fun growing up together, and in adulthood they were always there for each other. In 1991, William met Patricia (Pat) Snells. They married in 1993. Sandy gained a “bonus” mom and sister, Chandra Pierson -Cockrell. Although the marriage ended in 2001 a lifelong bond was created with Pat, Chandra, Skye and Sandy. In the last few years of his life on this earth, all he wanted was to be with his two girls. Thanks to Sandy, Skye, and Sandys wonderful boyfriend, Jay Wells, he lived his wish. Even as Sandy traveled weekly out of town on business Jay took care of William faithfully. William fought hard for 4 years with his illnesses. His fight ended on May 20, 2017. No more oxygen!! He is free! William is survived by his daughter: Kasandra Jones, granddaughter: Skye Pugh, sisters: Mollie Randolph and B. Lois Jones, brother: Zeddrick Jones (Andrea Jones), niece: Andrea Lampkin, great nephew: Dashon, and great nieces: Fantasia, Quenarii, Rahbyn, Faith, and Kelanie. Also he leaves behind a host of cousins, his lifelong friend Darryl Jones, and extended family and friends. His parents, oldest sister Beatrice Blake, and nephew Kevin Walton preceded him in death.
