William "Bill"
Joor
Apr 9, 1951 — Jun 9, 2026
With heavy hearts and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of William "Bill" Joor on June 9, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by his beloved family.
Born on April 9, 1951, in Corona, California, Bill was the first born son of Garrett and Betty Joor. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his younger brother Robert Joor, and sister-in-law Sharon Joor.
Bill's legacy is carried forward by his wife Anita (Rasp) Joor, of 45 years. Their story began on December 20, 1981, when they married at the historic Mission Inn in Riverside. Together they raised two daughters whom he leaves behind, Lauren (Bryant Hyslop) and Veronica (Brandon Wines), along with three treasured grandchildren, Lennox, Zeppelin, and Amelia, who were the lights of his life.
A proud alumnus of Corona High School, class of 1969, Bill furthered his education at the University of Redlands, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He followed in his father's footsteps, joining Joor Bros Metal, where he worked up from painter to welder, ultimately becoming the president of the company. Over the course of four decades, Bill expanded the business into Joor Bros Welding and Fabrication, employing 40 individuals and serving clients like The LA Times and Thomas English Muffins. His inventive spirit and self-taught skills in CAD led to the design and manufacturing of steel grain silos for renowned breweries, including Stone Brewing, Hangar24, and Alesmith.
Bill had many hobbies including surfing, skiing, tennis, and he even obtained his pilots license just to say he did. As a musician, he played bass in his high school bands, “The Pulsators” and “The Dirty Shame”, and continued to strum his guitar and bass throughout his life whether playing at his 40th High School Reunion or simply enjoying the Blues and Classic Rock he played along with.
Family was the cornerstone of Bill's life. He took immense pride in being a "Show Horse dad," sharing many weekends on family trail rides. For a decade, he volunteered with his family as a cast member in the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, with his favorite part being his role in "The Last Supper." In retirement, Bill found joy cruising in his prized Chevy Corvette Stingray and unwinding with an ocean front view at their family condo on Catalina Island.
Those who knew Bill will remember his quick wit, warm smile, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Bill will be missed greatly and will be remembered as a true friend and a man of character, integrity, and compassion.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the home of Bill and Anita Joor in Corona, CA. Friends and family are invited to gather and share in the memories of a man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and the bonds of friendship.
