William Edward Gosnell

WILLIAM "Bill" EDWARD GOSNELL, age 85 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Riverside, California, after a 3 year battle with cancer. Bill was born on April 4, 1933, in Mansfield, Texas and graduated from Mansfield High School. Bill worked for 35 years as a Millwright retiring in 1996, and remained a member of the Millwright trade union Local 1607 for 57 years. Bill enjoyed remodeling his home, taking care of his yard, and working in his garage. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 39 years Opal Laverne in 1994, and 14 year companion Mary Gibbons in 2011. Bill leaves behind his children, Debbie (Gosnell) Laird and William E. "Chip" Gosnell Jr., daughter-in-law Dorothy Gosnell, grandchildren: Jason Laird, Sabrina (Laird) Aguirre, William E. "CJ" Gosnell III, Alisha Gosnell, Ken Sandoval, Joe Sandoval and Landon Ackley. He also leaves behind nine great grandchildren: Sydney and Bryce Laird, Dynna Gosnell, Isaiah and Daniel Taffolla, Ashleigh, Joey, Ava, and Alyse Sandoval, and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10 am with funeral services starting at 12 pm at Sierra Memorial Chapel, 4933 La Sierra Avenue, Riverside. Burial will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
